Aims and Scope

The objective of the Journal of Mechanics is to provide an international forum to foster exchange of ideas among mechanics communities in different parts of world. The Journal of Mechanics publishes original research in all fields of theoretical and applied mechanics. The Journal especially welcomes papers that are related to recent technological advances. The contributions, which may be analytical, experimental or numerical, should be of significance to the progress of mechanics. Papers which are merely illustrations of established principles and procedures will generally not be accepted. Reports that are of technical interest are published as short articles. Review articles are published only by invitation.

Submission of Papers

Authors are encouraged to submit their original manuscripts online via the website: http://www.JMech.org.tw, where electronic submission and complete instructions for the preparation of manuscripts can be found. Alternatively, authors from North America and Europe may send their manuscripts electronically to either International Editor, Professor W. S. Chan (e-mail: chan@mae.uta.edu) or Professor Y. L. Shen (e-mail: shenyl@me.unm.edu). Please note that submission of hardcopy manuscripts by regular mail may lead to significantly delays in review and publication. If hardcopy submission is the only way available to the author, four copies of the manuscript including text figures and tables should be sent to:

The Journal employs a peer review system in the processing of manuscripts submitted for publication. Each manuscript is sent to reviewers (usually two or more) who are experts in the related fields. Decision as to the publication of the paper is based on the opinions expressed by the reviewers and the judgment of the Editorial board. Reviewers' suggestions for the revision of the manuscript are passed on to the author(s), who is entitled to make use of them or rebut them as he or she sees fit.
